He previously Director of Guitar Instruction for a local music school and a Senior Developer for Pearson Education.
Kayla Delzer is a 2nd grade teacher and technology champion in North Dakota. She is a columnist for Edsurge.com, where she writes about a variety of edtech topics. She has eight years of teaching experience, all in second grade. Kayla holds her master’s degree in Elementary Education and is currently in the process of becoming National Board Certified, the highest mark of professional accomplishment. On July 23, 2015 she delivered her first TEDx Talk, Reimagining Classrooms: Students as Leaders and Teachers as Learners. Kayla is a technology and innovation enthusiast, and she frequently travels around the United States as a featured and keynote speaker. Her work with classroom redesign and flexible seating has become the standard worldwide. She is highly sought after by educational and technology companies to preview and review their products. Kayla sits on several advisory boards of educational companies, and works closely with Remind, Go Ennounce, GoNoodle, Amazon Education, and Creative Teaching Press to name a few. She was also recently selected as North Dakota’s Lead Digital Innovator by PBS. She is authoring her first book for educators based on best 21st century teaching practices for digital natives, due to be published in December 2016.
Judy leads ELC, a nonprofit organization, that specializes in professional development, consulting, and creating open education resources in e-learning for schools and districts in the U.S. and Latin America. ELC is the Colorado recognized provider for professional development in bended learning. Judy has 25+ years in education as a teacher, principal, district leader, and worked for the Co Dept of Ed. She directed statewide online schools and implemented districtwide eLearning initiatives. Judy contributed to research for the U.S. Dept. of Ed and co-wrote legislative bills supporting innovation in education. She was appointed to the Colorado Online Task Force and Advisory Board. Judy is published and has been cited in several education publications. Her passion is equity & access and is the mother of two lifelong blended learners.
Jeffrey Bradbury, author of Kidblog: An Introduction to Blogging With Your Students, is the creator of TeacherCast.net, TeacherCast University, and Educational Podcasting Today. He is an ASCD Emerging Leader, Google Certified Teacher, Google Education Trainer, PBS Learning Media Digital Innovator, Microsoft Innovative Educator, Microsoft Surface Expert, Evernote Community Leader, speaker, writer, podcaster, broadcaster, consultant, and educational media specialist. He is currently the Coordinator for Technology Integration for the Westwood Regional School District in New Jersey.
For the last 5 years, the TeacherCast Educational Broadcasting Network, a Top 50 EdTech blog (Teach.com) and a 2015 Must-Read K-12 I.T. Blog (EdTech.com), has served educational conventions worldwide by providing on site live broadcasting to thousands of educators each week. Jeff is the host of the TeacherCast Podcast, Educational Podcasting Today and the TechEducator Podcast. Outside of TeacherCast, Jeff also hosts and produces podcasts for the New Jersey Education Association and Morgan’s Fund and is one of the new hosts of the ASCD Podcast featured soon on the BAM! Radio Network.
Jeff earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from West Chester University in Pennsylvania. In his free time, Jeff enjoys teaching, web design, broadcasting, playing viola and violin, conducting, and spending time with his wife Jennifer and their two year old triplets.
Relationship building, empathy, and creativity are at the center of Tom’s approach to life. He has found creative freedom in learning alongside his students and colleagues. Design thinking and the design process has reenergized his life and career. He knows that intentionality, an engaged perspective, and creativity can solve problems. Impasse is not an option.
Tom is a “quick study” whose creative outlets have included learning, imparting knowledge, and following his passions (art, photography, cooking, and the outdoors), which allows him to understand and to help an array of businesses/industries.
Tom has taught in Harlem NY, Dallas TX, New Canaan CT, and Denver CO. He serves on reaccreditation teams, collaborates with schools in Turkey and China, and presents at national conferences. Outside of education he serves on a number of boards.
As a father of four young children, Tom knows how to think quickly and deeply, while keeping priorities in focus. He enjoys strong coffee in the morning, embraces the fact that each day is a new opportunity to make “stuff” happen, and celebrates the end of each day with friends and family. Tom’s wife, Wendy, helps him think about life much more creatively and deeply.
Sheri Shea brings over 20 years of public school administration and sales experience in the educational curriculum and technology markets. She is a recent administrator of a Colorado “turnaround” elementary school in Sheridan School District heralded by the Colorado Department of Education, as a school making significant improvement, under Ms. Shea’s leadership the school experienced double-digit gains in Reading, Writing, and Math and sustained academic growth and achievement over consecutive school years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Metropolitan State College of Denver, a master’s degree from the University of Colorado in Administration, Supervision, and Curriculum Development and was a distinguished member of the University of Virginia’s, Darden School of Business School Leadership Cohort. Sheri has presented at state and national conferences regarding literacy instruction, English language development, and data driven instruction and assessment. Sheri enjoys spending time with her two teenage children; Sam and Lily.
After 20 years of using fairly traditional approaches as a teacher, Paul transformed his classroom by adopting design thinking in his work. Since then, he has developed and teaches several courses at Colorado Academy that have design thinking at their core. While earning a master’s degree from the University of Wyoming, Paul began a teaching career that has been focused in independent schools. Since then, he has taught everything from kindergarten to college and he has won teaching and coaching awards along the way.
Paul is also co-founder of Fleissig Design, whose mission is to help organizations find creative solutions to their problems and challenges.
Outside of his work in education, Paul co-founded Dot-to-Dot Children’s Books with three former students and published 12 books. He has also spoken at conferences, including TEDx Denver Teachers, published articles, served on advisory boards, and co-chaired the National Association of Independent School’s People of Color Conference.
In his free time, Paul enjoys getting out and about to explore cities across the country. He and his wife Tami also love to entertain at their home in Northwest Denver.
Noah Geisel has been teaching Spanish, English and Technology for 14 years. An addict of sharing and collaborating with other teachers, he is a constant on Twitter (@SenorG) and was a contributing writer to the education blog TeachPaperless.com. Co-founder of the weekly twitter chat #BadgeChatK12, he is excited to be working with Aurora Public Schools on a Digital Badge system that recognizes students’ assets and unlocks opportunities. Noah proudly represented ACTFL as the 2013 National Language Teacher of the Year. He is a traveler, learner and hardcore fan of Duke Basketball.
Mike has been a classroom teacher in Denver for the past 12 years. He has worked in middle school, pre-K, 4th grade, and 1st grade as well as acted as part time blended learning coach. A vehement advocate of the “flipped classroom”, the self-proclaimed Dean of Fun has recently partnered with the New Schools Venture Fund to open a new Teacher Powered School (Our Neighborhood School) in Denver in 2018.
Jalali Hartman is an entrepreneur and engineer with more than 20 years of product development and startup experience involving big data, A.I. and algorithm development. In total his companies have created more than 400 jobs and reached hundreds of millions of consumers.
He is the currently Chief Human Officer of ROBAUTO where he is working to accelerate robotics innovation via a low-cost educational robotics platform called BiBli.
